Something happened to the delivery of the Oakdale Leader last week. It is Sunday and many have not received it yet! The Leader said it was put in the mail late so guess it is on the Post Office.

Former Knights Ferry resident Gayle Lund is a Great-Grandmother! Granddaughter Tiffany and hubby Alex Anderson had a boy on September 28th. He weighed in at 8 pounds eleven ounces. They named him Casen.

Bill and Kay Martinelli celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Happy anniversary and many more!

At the Knights Ferry Community Club meeting the guest speaker was Jeff Jardine from the Modesto Bee. He told about the rearrangement of the Bee and how social media is impacting papers. The Bee is writing articles in depth as most people get the general stories on line. If anyone has an idea for his column give him a call. The upcoming Pumpkin Roll was discussed. There will be a Halloween movie on October 30th at the clubhouse and set up the craft tables.

Lisa and Fred Dolling were on a team with 23 others representing Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance to “Strut Your Mutt” in San Francisco. Their team was the top fundraiser, with over $20,000. Way to go team!

Carol Davis enjoyed the birthday celebration for her daughter-in-law Kim Davis in the Bay Area. She got to see her grandson Connor as he came over from San Francisco to help his mom celebrate.

Knights Ferry School’s sixth graders spent last week at Science Camp at Foothill Horizons. Superintendent/Principal “Dr. J” visited them when the camp went to Moaning Caverns (it was raining) and she went down only as far as the landing (I didn’t go any farther than that when we went!) That place is way down!

KFS is collecting pots and pans for student cooking projects so clean out the cupboard.

The KFS students will be running around the field Friday for their annual Jog-a-thon. The 5-8th graders will run at 10:00 a.m. and the K-4th will run at 11:00 a.m.
