The Lord called Bob home after years of battling numerous health issues. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Zelma Thompson, his brothers Alvin, Virgil and Russell Thompson, his sister Virginia Thompson Sitton and his wife Enid Faye Thompson.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Monica (Sam) Ojcius; his sons, Mark (Kristen) Thompson and Matthew (Kelly) Thompson; seven grandsons – Ryan, Blake, Casey, Kyle, Jesse, Michael, and Luke; three great-grandchildren – Daxton, Sasha, and Stella; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Bob was proud to serve in the California National Guard and Army Reserves. He was a journeyman electrician and member of IBEW local 684 for over 60 years. Bob loved gardening, hunting, traveling the world and his many four-legged pets over the years. Bob grew walnuts at his Waterford property. He was active in his community, serving in leadership roles in the Jaycees, Scouts, and Future Farmers of America. He served as the Little League Baseball Commissioner in Waterford and led the founding and development of the Tri City Outlaws youth football team.
Bob was a man of his word, was resourceful, humble and had a keen sense of humor. He was generous with his time and talent helping all those who needed him. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none.
