Mary Ann Liljenquist, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Oakdale, California, on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Born Mary Ann Griffiths, in Utah, she was the daughter of Mary Bernice and Hugh Darrell Griffiths. She met her sweetheart, Jeffery P. Liljenquist while attending Brigham Young University and they shared almost 56 years together –– the last 37 in Oakdale. She loved flowers, crafting, music, and hosting meals at her home with family and friends. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives through quiet service in the community and in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her children, Robin (Eric) Anderson, Mary Lynn (Benjamin) Mendez, Scott (Melissa), Marty, Katie (Tyler) Thalman, and Aaron (Timber); 20 grandchildren; and her brothers: Roy, Brent, and Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rex.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1111 E. A Street, Oakdale, California. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, donate.shrinerschildrens.org.
