Soroptimists planning Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser
Bingo SIO

Back for another year, Soroptimist International of Oakdale has announced the return of its signature Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale.

This year’s event features 10 bingo games awarding premium designer handbags, an expanded raffle, and new interactive game experiences designed to elevate the excitement for all attendees.

Designer Bag Bingo remains one of the organization’s most impactful annual fundraisers, supporting programs that empower women and girls in the community, including the Live Your Dream Award; Dream It, Be It; and additional local service initiatives.

“This event is not only fun — it directly supports women and girls in our community,” said Designer Bag Bingo Co-Chair Ruth Bright. “Every ticket purchased helps us fund programs that make a real difference.”

Co-Chair Brandy Carey added, “We’ve expanded the event this year with new games, more prizes, and exciting surprises. We can’t wait to welcome everyone on October 4.”

Tickets are currently for sale on the group’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/sioakdale

This year’s event will include both new and familiar features:

  • Oakdale Mayor Cherilyn Bairos returns for the third year in a row as the official bingo caller, bringing her signature excitement, flair, and infectious energy that makes playing bingo an unforgettable experience.
  • Lollipop Bingo Bonus Game: The Lollipop Bingo bonus game will feature 75 lollipops, with 36 containing winning colors. For $20, participants can pick a lollipop — some will take home one of the Bingo-themed prizes, while others will receive just the lollipop, adding suspense, surprise, and fun to the experience.
  • Expanded Raffle: Guests may purchase a sheet of raffle tickets for $25, giving them multiple chances to win from a selection of new handbag-themed prizes. The raffle brings ongoing excitement as attendees await each drawing.

Also, coming up, Soroptimists will appear as the featured charity at the Oakdale Morning Market on Saturday, Aug. 8. For $50, guests can purchase their Designer Bag Bingo ticket — and Morning Market buyers receive a free dauber, making this a can’t-miss early-bird special.

For the October event, doors will open at 1 p.m., and bingo calling begins at 2 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure seating, purchase raffle tickets, and explore bonus games before the first round begins.
