Dear Editor,
Seven months before the 2020 election, Trump’s mantra was: “The only way we lose this election is by fraud.” Many believed him when he lost.
But it wasn’t true. In fact, these people all told him no fraud was found — and all are Republicans: Jason Miller (senior campaign manager), Eric Herschmann (Trump lawyer), Jeffrey Rosen (Acting Deputy Attorney General), Bill Barr (Attorney General), Greg Jacob (Pence’s lawyer), Brad Raffensperger (Georgia Secretary of State), Doug Ducey (Arizona Governor), Rusty Bowers (Arizona House Speaker), Kevin McCarthy (Speaker of the House), Chris Stirewalt (Fox News political editor), FBI and Chris Krebs (DHS, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security).
Multiple recounts in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania — along with 62 federal court cases, many decided by Trump-appointed judges — found no evidence of fraud.
Now Trump is doing it again: claiming our election system is flawed, spreading misinformation, pushing unnecessary and stricter voter ID laws, pressuring states to hand over voter lists, closing polling places, and interfering with mail-in ballots. He was already the first president to try to overturn an election’s results.
Don’t let him use federal power to do it again.
Vote.
Sincerely,
Larry Podolsky
