Parents were Joseph and Mary with three older sisters: Sue Canavan, Mary Jo Webb, and Sarah Dineen, and three younger sisters: Jane Rydberg-Schroeder, Janey Isley, and Laura Rydberg.

He thanks the “Sailors Union of the Pacific” for his charmed and exciting life at sea as a “West Coast Sailor”.

He leaves behind his great nieces and nephews and their children, his friends and acquaintances, and a house full of junk bought overseas.
