Knights Ferry Community Church is hosting Vacation Bible School, June 16-18, from 9am - noon, open to all children of all ages in the community and the surrounding areas. The program will offer three days of fun activities, games and time together in a positive, welcoming setting. Children 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Moms and dads with babies are encouraged to come and just enjoy the festivities. This event is free and does not require pre-registration; attendees will simply check in upon arrival on the first day.

Knights Ferry is asking for the community’s help in locating several orange cones that were taken from in front of the historic firehouse, also known as the Hook & Ladder Co. building, which houses an antique horse-drawn fire wagon.

The original firehouse was built in 1871 and was destroyed in the flood of 1955. The current structure is a detailed reconstruction completed in 1976. The fire wagon housed inside was famously shipped “around the horn” from New York in 1872.

The orange cones placed out front were intended to help protect this historic building and the antique fire wagon inside. The cones are the personal property of a Knights Ferry resident.

Anyone who may have taken them is kindly asked to return them—no questions asked.

On Saturday, June 13, Trusty Film Crew will host an outdoor screening of Stand By Me, celebrating the 40-year anniversary of this cult classic by Stephen King and Rob Reiner.

Bring your lawn chair and your ice chest to the tennis court at sundown. This is a free event open to all (viewer discretion is advised).
