Bonnie Jo Walowich, 90, of Oakdale, California, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bonnie dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. She spent over 50 years running a children’s daycare, where she cared for and positively influenced generations of families. In 2015, Bonnie moved to California to be closer to family and has since resided in Oakdale for the past nine years.

Bonnie was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel in Oakdale. She enjoyed sewing, baking, attending church gatherings, and especially cherished time spent with her family.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Edgar Garman, and her husband, George Walowich.

She is survived by her children: Darlene Polk, Barb (Mike) Schott, and John Walowich; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Eaton Family Funeral Home, 513 12th Street, Modesto, CA on May 15, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Bonnie will be laid to rest in Fort Wayne, Indiana, beside her husband George Walowich.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
