Along Patterson Road in Riverbank for several hours on Friday evening, Aug. 21, vehicles were funneled through a DUI checkpoint. Traffic deputies, in cooperation with members of the MAIT, accident investigation team, conducted the checkpoint. Officials reported roughly 1,100 cars were screened. There were 54 stops for additional investigation, which resulted in 18 citations being issued and one arrest of a driver for being under the influence.
