Football, cross country, girls flag football, girls volleyball and girls golf are all part of the fall sports campaign at Riverbank High School. Bruin teams have been practicing in preparation for the busy season, with preseason play followed by league contests all coming up.

For the football team, their first action is set for Sept. 4, at home hosting Gustine. They then play Sept. 11 at Albany, Sept. 18 at Beyer in Modesto and are scheduled to open up Mother Lode League play on the road, Sept. 25 at Linden.

Cross country runners begin the fall campaign at the Aug. 22 Screamin’ Scott Showdown and then will be at the Central Valley Classic hosted at Woodward Park in Fresno on Sept. 4. On Sept. 16, Jacob Myers Park in Riverbank will be the host site for the Mother Lode League Cluster Meet #1.

Riverbank’s Lady Bruin flag football team was scheduled to host Hilmar on Aug. 18 and then will be at Ceres on Aug. 19, followed by participation in the Orestimba Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Gearing up for their time on the court, the RHS volleyball girls will get in some work at the Orestimba Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 22 and then will host Modesto Christian on Aug. 25. They will play at Waterford on Aug. 27 and start September with back-to-back matches, first on the road at Denair on Sept. 2, then home hosting Delhi on Sept. 3.

The golf girls return to the course for a new season to host Escalon on Aug. 19 at the Ripon Golf Course, then will host Bret Harte on Sept. 3. Ripon is the team’s home course.
