Coming up on Saturday, Aug. 22, the Riverbank Historical Society will present an opportunity to “step back into history” with Joy Sweger as she presents the History of California Natives. The program is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and will be hosted at the Riverbank Historical Museum, 3237 Santa Fe in Riverbank.
This is a free event but organizers are hoping to get an idea of how many people to expect so those planning to attend are asked to register at riverbankhistorical@gmail.com

Area historian and genealogist Joy Loree (Wadsworth) Sweger will provide a presentation that brings history to life through storytelling, research and firsthand family connections.
Presentation highlights are to include: California Native history, Tuolumne County Native history, Native culture and traditions, westward expansion and its impact, and family stories from the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and the Dawes Commission.
