Those driving by the former Rite Aid on West F Street in Oakdale may have noticed a lot of activity at the location and that is because Oak Valley Hospital District is renovating it and opening a Center for Health Improvement. The new center will feature guest speakers that address a variety of health and educational topics. The Center for Health Improvement is one of many new and exciting additions to overall wellness that OVHD is bringing to the community.
The first event, EmpowerHER, a Women’s Wellness Luncheon, will feature Dr. Carmela Solimine, a family care physician who specializes in women’s health. It is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the new Center for Health Improvement, which is located at 1300 W. F St., in Oakdale. The program is a collaborative effort of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and Oak Valley Hospital District.
Dr. Solimine, a recent addition to the OVHD family of physicians, will be sharing her expertise and knowledge regarding menopause and perimenopause to increase awareness, offer wellness strategies and treatment options and address any additional areas of concern.
“We are so proud to have this collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce and Oak Valley Hospital to bring education and attention to women’s health,” said Cher Bairos, Oakdale Mayor and CEO of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are available now and early purchase is recommended; ticket price includes lunch and the presentation. Tickets for individuals are $40 and for businesses, group tables that can accommodate up to eight people cost $400 with the company logo displayed on the table.
“We are committed to working with and for the women in Oakdale and we are looking forward to hosting many more events in the future,” said Melinda Heyn of the Marketing and Outreach Department at OVHD.
This event is one of many that will highlight health and wellness topics that are of interest to the community, with the next event already scheduled for February of 2027.
