Hi, I hope you are all doing well. It has been so hot … please be sure to drink lots of water and stay hydrated; be sure to take care of yourselves.

*****

This week once again I am sharing the excitement of our Oakdale Enrichment Society’s “All American Bash” set for Saturday, June 27. I hope you are all planning to come out to Dorada Park (next to the City Swimming Pool) as it’s going to be a truly wonderful hometown Fourth of July Celebration.

We will celebrate 250 years of our great country. We will honor our veterans; the amazing men and women we owe our freedom to. God Bless America.

With our celebration just a little over a week away our excitement is building. Many of you already know and love musical artist Willy Tea; Willy will headline the evening with his daughter Rita opening for him. Both father and daughter are amazing talents. Personally, I absolutely love to hear Willy sing about “where he comes from” and he even includes in the words of his song a man, a dear friend to many of us, Benny, and homemade wine.

The words of Willy’s songs can take each of us to a special place in our memories.

It’s definitely going to be a very special evening. There will be lots of activities for youngsters at the Kids Zone. Delicious food and drinks will be available for purchase. You are most welcome to bring your own picnic; what a fun way to celebrate with our family and friends. Remember your lawn chairs or your blanket to set up in the park too, and come enjoy this very special evening.

The Bash starts at 5 pm and will end at 10 pm. Please take time to visit the Red, White and Blue area to say hello to our veterans and perhaps offer a “Thank You” and shake the hands of these amazing men and women who have served and sacrificed. We are forever grateful.

I hope you will each consider wearing red, white or blue or maybe consider dressing in patriotic style to enter the Patriotic Dress Contest. There will be prizes awarded to the winners.

A special note to our veterans; please call me, Winnie, at 209-985-5233 to sign up for your seat in the Red, White and Blue area. We will be serving our veterans and their families a slice of ‘Patriotic Pie’ between 5 pm and 6 pm.

We are very grateful to our Boy Scouts, who will present the colors and will assist our veterans.

Please feel free to call me with any questions or any ideas you would like to share. God bless our great nation. You may contact me by email at winniemullins51@gmail.com or by text or telephone at 209-985-5233.

Until next time, “Happy Trails to All!”
