Hi everyone, I hope each of you are doing well. I would like to share an invitation from MST … All are invited to memorial ceremonies throughout our area, to honor and remember those affected by the events of September 11, 2001. Modesto Fire Department, our local law enforcement, public safety, and emergency service agencies have invited our community members on this 25th year of remembrance to help honor all those whose lives were impacted. Throughout our area, all ceremonies are open to the public and will begin simultaneously at 8:46am.
Those planning to attend are asked to arrive by 8:30am on Friday, September 11. Here are locations: Modesto Station # 1, 600 11th Street; Riverbank Station #26, 3318 Topeka Street; Oakdale Station #28, 325 East G Street; Turlock Station #31, 540 East Marshall Street; Ceres - Whitmore Park, American Legion Ceres Post, Second Street.

What a beautiful time of the year fall is. Thank you to all those out there who are bringing the harvest in, going to work before the sun comes up and sometimes working long after the sun goes down. Our area is definitely an agricultural area … we have a bountiful harvest which feeds us here at home and also feeds folks worldwide. We are blessed. As we watch our harvest being brought in, machines being moved from field to field, trucks loaded with crops from our area … it’s a proud feeling to live in this amazing agricultural area.
As we do each year in Valley Home , we celebrate our beautiful harvest season with a Fall Harvest Festival. This year our festival will be on Saturday, October 24. It will run from 6:30pm until 9pm. The Fall Harvest Festival takes place at Valley Home School and is a tribute to our rural way of life in Valley Home and our surrounding area. It was started over 20 years ago, not to be a huge fundraiser but a way for our school and community to come together, enjoy each other and to visit with friends and family. We celebrate our harvest season by coming together and enjoying the fruits of our labor. Our school and our community work together to make this amazing tradition happen each year.
Here are a few of the things you can look forward to enjoying when you visit our Fall Harvest Festival: BBQ tri tip sandwiches from our harvest kitchen; amazing treats from our Sweet Shoppe; excitement and so much fun in our new kiddie land area; have fun while trying your hand at roping in our dummy roping area; enjoy special visits with our first responders; take home your very own pumpkin from our pumpkin patch or maybe take home a bag of nuts or fresh vegetables. Treat yourself to a fun picture in the harvest photo booth, bid on an item at the silent auction, there will also be many great items to bid on in the class baskets and you can enjoy some retro wooden games. For those of you who would like to donate to our Valley Home Fall Harvest silent auction, your donations would be very, very much appreciated.

Saturday, November 7, Community Dinner for Teresa Hammond’s children and three of our young people battling cancer … more information to come.
