Hello everyone, I hope all is well with each of you.
*****
So much excitement in Valley Home this week. This coming Saturday, Oct. 24, is our Valley Home Fall Harvest Festival. It is held each fall at our Valley Home School. Our school and community come together to celebrate our rural lifestyle and our harvest season.
Please consider joining us … the fun starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9pm! Come enjoy delicious food from Sean’s Harvest Kitchen, and visiting with friends and family. We were hoping our very own Jett Trunnell would be able to be here for Harvest Festival, to strum his guitar along with Greg Ross and the Boys From Bakersfield. Jett is still in Stanford Hospital fighting a tremendous battle against Osteosarcoma cancer. Let’s all keep praying for Jett; he has been at Stanford since August 29. Jett’s banner will be up at our Harvest Festival and the band will honor their friend. We all pray that Jett will soon be able to come home.
For those of you that are looking forward to some delicious fall sweet treats, visit our Sweet Shoppe for a slice of autumn apple or pumpkin pie. Enjoy a candy apple, fall pastries, as well as hot buttered popcorn, sno cones, and lemonade. Make a stop inside the gym and you will smell the fresh aroma of piping hot coffee or you can warm up with a delicious cup of hot chocolate. It’s going to be a wonderful night. Support our Valley Home School by bidding on a Class Basket or be the winning bid on a delightful Silent Auction item. Inside the gym you will also be able to play a fun round of Bingo, have your face painted, learn about the history of Valley Home or stop and visit Wyatt’s booth. Also, take time to visit outside near the fire truck and you can catch up with current information on our Fire Department. They are happy to answer any questions you may have.
Kiddie Land is ready to welcome our little ones with games of many different kinds and the dummy roping area will be in full swing.
We are looking forward to a fly over by the Sheriff’s Helicopter, Air 101, and a possible visit from the Sheriff’s Swat Team along with K9 Deputies. CHP officers will be attending; Supervisor Buck Condit and his wife Kim will be with us in Valley Home for the evening. For those of you that would like to join in, at 7:30pm, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Lieutenant and Pastor Brock Condit, will offer a very special prayer near the front of our school.
Bring your homemade pie or favorite dessert to win a great prize; enter your carved pumpkin or decorated pumpkin, or your homemade scarecrow and make sure your name is on these entries. Please put your name where the judges can’t read it easily and bring your entries to school before 6:30pm. Prizes will be awarded at 8:30pm by School Superintendent Bill Slikker. Make sure you wear your favorite costume and enter the costume contest. The costume parade will start at 8:15pm and lines up near the petting zoo. Please remember ‘Tyler’s Haunted Hay Ride’ starts at 7:30pm … The Pirates are coming …
