Short Agenda For Council Meeting

A brief agenda is on tap for the Oakdale City Council Meeting for Monday, May 6.

With only one item to be reported, a contract change order for the Davitt Avenue construction project, the meeting has no other significant items for discussion .

The council will however discuss in closed session a proposal by City Manager Bryan Whitemyer on moving forward with a public services director.

Employment issues are exempt from the Brown Act open forum discussions.

Earlier this year the city pondered the idea of an assistant city manager to head certain departments.

According to Whitemyer, the public services director would head the public works department and community services.

“It will be one or the other,” said Whitemyer regarding the two proposed positions with the city. “I’m looking for direction on which way to go. There won’t be both (a public services director and assistant city manager).”

The council meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will be held at the City Council Chambers at 277 N. Second Ave.
