Community Programs

Saturday, October 1st & October 15th – Advanced Line Dance 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Advanced dancers only. This fast paced class is designed for experienced dancers. Gladys Lemmons Senior Center 450 East A Street.

 

Tuesday, October 18th – Community Band and Singing Seniors Concert 6:30 p.m.

Free to the public, donations appreciated for OHS Senior Scholarships. Gladys Lemmons Senior Center 450 East A Street.

 

Sunday, October 23rd – Line Dancing Fun Sunday 1:00 p.m. Kick-up your heels and join other dancers for a day of line dancing and fun. Admission $7.00 bring comfortable shoes and a snack. Gladys Lemmons Senior Center 450 East A Street.

 

Wednesday, October 26th – Free Flu and Pneumonia Shots 9:00 a.m. – Noon. For all Medicare Part B Card Holders. Provided by Rite Aid Pharmacy. Any questions, please call the immunizing pharmacist at 847-4279. Please bring your red, white and blue Medicare Part B card with you. Without Medicare the cost is $32.99. Everyone is welcome. Monday, October 31st – Annual Halloween Parade and Festival co-sponsored by Oakdale Kiwanis. 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Parade, costume contest, games, free hot dogs and popcorn and much more. Parade leaves the Youth Building 295 Gilbert Avenue at 5:00 p.m. ending at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. Bring the whole family for a Spooktacular time. Gene Bianchi Community Center 110 South Second Avenue.

 

Tuesday Evenings – Oakdale Community Band Rehearsals – 6:30 p.m. Pick up your instrument, dust it off and get ready to play! There are no auditions for this band, come on down to the Senior Center Tuesday nights to rehearse. Fee $10 per year. Gladys Lemmons Senior Center 450 East A Street.

 

Thursday Evenings – Line Dancing. Intro to Line Dancing/Beginners - 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Line Dancing for intermediate dancers 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. These classes are continuous programs that can be joined anytime with the purchase of a punch card. $30.00 for a 6 class punch card. All classes are at the Gladys Lemmons Senior Community Center, 450 East A Street.

Friday, October 14th – Variety Show – 6:30 p.m. The Senior Center is hosting a variety show featuring groups that meet and practice at the Senior Center; Oakdale Singing Seniors, The Oakdale Silver Strummers Ukulele Group, The Silver Wahine Hula Ladies and the Rockettes tap dancers. Tuesday, October 25th – Stanislaus County Hi-Cap – Medicare Advantage Forum

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Learn about changes coming for 2017 supplemental insurance premiums and benefits offered by the plans in Stanislaus County. Gladys Lemmons Senior Center 450 East A Street.

Cape Cod and the Islands October 2017

Trip includes visits to Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket & Newport. On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1 p.m., a representative from Premier World Discovery will be giving a presentation to give additional information about the trip and answer questions.
