MJC Celebrates History Of Educational Excellence
Modesto Jr College

The Modesto Junior College Foundation is ‘Celebrating 95 Years of Educational Excellence’ as the theme for this year’s Summer Sonata which is slated for Thursday, July 21 at Greens on Tenth, 947 10th St., in downtown Modesto. The elegant evening will feature food catered by Greens, a selection of fine wines and a program showcasing a 95th anniversary celebration video, as well as alumni stories of how MJC touched their lives.

The event, held in Green’s new banquet facility, begins with a reception and silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. After dinner there will be a program and a live auction.

The cost to attend is $150 per person and table sponsorships are available. Event proceeds benefit college programs, campus projects and student scholarships.

The Summer Sonata is the premier fundraiser for the Foundation and since its inception has provided almost $2 million for MJC student scholarships, program grants, equipment and educational activities not provided by the state. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in 1968, the Foundation exists to generate financial support for and to increase community awareness of the students, programs, and activities of MJC.
