The nonprofit Shelter Pet Alliance is hosting a fundraiser reception to help build a dog exercise park at the Oakdale City Animal Shelter. The reception is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 891 Reinman Court in Oakdale. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The dog park will create a safe and quiet place for dogs and people to get acquainted with plenty of room to throw a ball and start basic training skills.

If you cannot attend but would like to donate to the project, you can mail a donation in any amount to Stanislaus Community Foundation, 1226 Eleventh Street, Ste. B, Modesto, CA 95354 with a note in the memo “for SPA-Special Projects Fund #184.”
