The summer staple of Oakdale returns downtown to North Third Avenue this Thursday, June 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Annual Certified Farmers Market, sponsored by the City of Oakdale Community Development and Services Department, will offer a variety of locally grown farm fresh fruits and vegetables along with local artists displaying their work and specialty items ranging from honey, olive oil, and fresh cut flowers.

There will also be live entertainment and a variety of food vendors with more items to enjoy while walking around. Downtown shops and restaurants will remain open during the market.

The farmers market is free to the public.

Each week there will be different styles of live music on each end of the farmer’s market.

Visitors to the weekly market have the chance to purchase some of the freshest fruits and vegetables around, some coming in from the fields shortly before heading to retail facilities.

A “certified” farmers market means the county agriculture department inspects the farms for quality and that the produce is grown in the area.

The farmers market will run weekly, each Thursday, through Aug. 29.
