Speechtrain Session

Join in each week with the local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 31. Artwork On Display

Modesto Junior College Department of Art presents “A Mother’s Tears” art show featuring the paintings of Susan Levy and dedicated to the memory of her daughter Chandra Levy. The show runs through Thursday, June 1 in the MJC Art Gallery on the East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and admission is free.

 

Woodward Expo

 

In a continued celebration of Woodward Reservoir’s 100th season, Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation is bringing an Ultimate Boat & Sport Expo to the main boat ramp of the reservoir on Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to come to the event for a day spent outdoors, perusing impressive boats and sporting equipment, enjoying food and beverages, and spending quality time with friends and family. Woodward Reservoir is on 26-Mile Road, off Highway 120, north of Oakdale. Admission to the park is $10 per carload for Stanislaus County residents and $15 for out-of-county residents. There is no extra cost to attend the boat expo.
