The Knights Ferry Car Show is on April 4, 2020 from 9am-3pm, rain or shine! This is the Community Club’s largest fundraiser and Miles Shuper has done a good job getting the locals excited about the car show. They are currently accepting car show entries and there will be an awards ceremony at 2pm. Download a copy of the entry form at www.knightsferrycommunity.com. As always, the car show will be on Main Street in Knights Ferry so please take note if you drive large trucks and trailers or recreational vehicles. Jason Sweet and his crew of traffic control volunteers do a great job of providing a smooth detour but it can be very difficult for large vehicles due to the narrow side roads and turns.

Fire protection has been a hot topic for our local area and at the OFPD meetings, they have been discussing solutions to fund and provide better fire protection in our area. There is a proposed Measure Q for a new fire tax assessment proposal for property owners in the Oakdale Fire Protection District. Gary Hampton will be at the next MAC meeting on February 27, 2020 at 7pm in the Community Club to share information about the proposed Measure Q and he will have a Q&A time so that locals can ask questions. Dolly Haskell has been working very hard to keep fire protection and first responders in our town. Thank you, Dolly!

Chris and Megan Peterson took their family on a trip to Kona, Hawaii. One of the Peterson boys, James loves to fish with his dad in the local rivers and ocean and he was able to catch a yellow fin tuna on a fishing excursion in Hawaii! The family enjoyed a luau, plenty of beach time, and yummy food.
