Oakdale High’s senior ace Brianna Parker of the varsity softball team isn’t just a strong arm.
She can knock the cover off the ball, too.
Parker smashed a four-RBI grand slam in a recent 12-1 blowout of St. Mary’s, and pitched three sharp innings to start the game.
The ‘grand salami’ is the first of Oakdale’s spring season, and indicates Parker’s clutch approach to the plate.
She has been stellar already this season, both on the mound and at the plate, and earns Athlete of the Week recognition from The Leader for her efforts.
Parker’s big start to the year led Oakdale to a 6-2-1 preseason stanza, with big Valley Oak League contests ahead. She will be the dominant force of Oakdale’s defensive unit as the team rolls into big league games.
