Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms resume in September.

Wiggle Worms Story Time has moved to Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

Enjoy stories, music, dancing, rhythm activities, and fingerplay at this special program perfect for ages birth to 3 and their caregivers. (25 to 30 minutes).

Preschool Story Time is now every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for books, flannelboard stories, fingerplay, and music, for preschoolers, ages 3-6, and caregivers. (30 minutes).

Our popular Adult Computer Class Series will return in October. Please call if you would like to sign-up in advance. 209-847-4204.

Teen Craft/Book Club is back. Please pick up a copy of our monthly selection available at the library, then, join us to talk, share, and create on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. We will be designing “Paint Chip Calendars” that can carry you colorfully through the great months ahead.

Our Children’s Craft this month will be “digging” into “Archaeology Day.” Children can design an ancient coin, look for artifacts in the “excavation site” and might even find a dinosaur bone in the ruins. Explore with us on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 3:30 p.m.

Our “Little Scientists” S.T.E.A.M. Program for ages from Kindergarten to 8 years old, will be on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 3:30 p.m. Listen to a book then explore the world of science with special activities. There will be “ice cream” fun and learning in our “science lab.” Sign-ups are required in advance, starting on Sept. 1. Please call the Oakdale Library at 209-847-4204 for info.

Bring your little ones for some Toddler/Preschool Dance Fun on Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. We’ll be “rockin’ out” to some of our favorite Story Time music as well as trying the Hula, the Twist, or perhaps, a Mexican Hat Dance.

Then, bring your little ones back on Mondays, Sept. 10 and Sept. 24, at 11 a.m., for our popular Wee Move and Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play. Parents can help their children interact together, learn social skills, and have fun.

Enjoy our new monthly edition of Family Story Time. Come for a special Saturday Story Time experience on Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. Books, music, finger plays and more are featured. This is a wonderful opportunity for families who miss out on our regular weekday Story Time to share the full experience together.

We will have two Lego Days this month on Thursdays, Sept. 13 and Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. Kids can unleash their awesome creativity and we will display their masterpieces in the library. Join us for building fun!

We will celebrate “Talk Like a Pirate Day” on Wednesday, Sept. 19 with a special craft and a week-long “Polly the Parrot Scavenger Hunt.” Join the fun at 3:30 p.m. as we make our own “Pirate Maps” and search the children’s library for Polly the Parrot and the missing pirate treasure to get your own small prize! Then take a guess at how much Pirate Loot is in the counting jar for another chance to win.

Our Library Book Club will be reading “The Soldier’s Wife” and then meeting to discuss and share on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 11:30 a.m. You can sign out a copy at the Library and join in. New members are always welcome.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of many of our great programs and prizes, including our fabulous gift baskets and brand new bicycles for Summer Reading drawing winners. The Friends constantly promote and encourage the great gift of literacy at all levels for everyone.
