A wanted parolee was taken into custody and another man is still on the run from a shooting incident on Thursday, April 11.

Oakdale Police Sergeant Joe Johnson reported that around 1 p.m. on April 11, Oakdale Police responded to several 911 calls of gunshots in the area of N. Fifth Avenue.

Upon arrival, police determined that a male suspect had fired a gun at a Mustang convertible occupied by a woman driver and a male passenger driving on the street. The suspect then fled the area. No one was injured by the gunfire.

The driver of the Mustang stopped the vehicle and then got into a physical altercation with another female resident on the street. During the fight the male passenger stuck the other female with a metal bar.

When officers arrived they learned that the male passenger was a wanted parolee out of California Department of Corrections. He was arrested for the parole warrant and for assault with a deadly weapon.

During the investigation, police identified the shooter as Dominique Ahmad Walker, 21, of Oakdale.

According to Johnson, Walker is a documented Norteno gang member with numerous police contacts.

Police are not releasing the name of the arrested parolee or the other participants for their protection because the incident is believed to be gang related.

Walker is described as an African-American male, 5’7” tall and weighing about 165 pounds.

Johnson said Walker is believed to still be armed. Anyone seeing Walker should not approach him but should call 911. Police ask that anyone with information about Walker’s location to contact the Oakdale Police Department at (209) 847-2231.
