Summer Programs At Library
oakdale library

The Oakdale Library is getting ready for an event designed especially for adults – “Hot Mess Painting” on Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m.

Basically, the event utilizes a reverse stencil where the bottom layer is a unique “mishmash” of colors; adults are invited to come by the library and give it a try.

On Tuesday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m., the regular Oakdale Library Book Club for adults will gather. Join in to meet, mingle, and chat with other literature lovers. Read and discover new books, genres, and authors. This month’s selection will be “The Pilot’s Wife” by Anita Shreve. Stop by the Library to sign out a copy. New members are always welcome.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of many of the library’s programs and prizes, including the gift baskets given to Adult Summer Reading drawing winners. The Friends constantly promote and encourage the great gift of literacy at all levels for everyone. The Friends will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m. Forms to join and info are available at the Oakdale Library, or call 209-847-4204.

Also a reminder that the Story Time Sessions will continue through June, Wiggle Worms for those up to three-years-old and their caregivers on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.; Preschool Story Time for ages 3 to 6 with caregivers, Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Ongoing, the Summer Reading Challenge for all ages is in full swing. Read books you love, join in for fun activities and programs, and enter to win prizes throughout the summer.
