Those on the Event Leadership Team, ELT, will gather at 6 p.m. at the Oak Valley Medical Plaza meeting rooms, 1425 W. H St., Oakdale, and the Team Captain meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the same location. All interested in learning more about the Relay, set for May 2 and 3, are encouraged to attend. You can join an existing team, start a team, help out with planning for the event and/or work the day of the event or just come out and support those participating.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, helping to provide money for cancer research, treatment and patient services.
Oakdale High School will be the site for this year’s 24-hour event, which runs from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 2 through 9 a.m. Sunday, May 3. All are welcome to come out and support Relay For Life, whether they join a team or not; there will be games, food, music, activities and a special focus on celebrating cancer survivors and caregivers.
