OID Plans Protest Letter To Partner

The Oakdale Irrigation District Board of Directors unanimously agreed to send a letter of protest to its Tri-Dam Project partner, South San Joaquin Irrigation District, charging a breach of Tri-Dam board meeting protocol in an action at the July 17 OID regular meeting.

The OID board contends that the SSJID board president is censoring OID’s position and the distribution of information at the Tri-Dam public meetings when held at SSJID headquarters in Manteca.

There is also some disagreement amongst OID board members about how discussions on Tri-Dam issues should be held at OID meetings, closed session or open session. With some regularity, the OID board has voiced complaints at the OID meetings about lack of transparency at Tri-Dam, about some Tri-Dam personnel, Tri-Dam’s way of doing business, and not agreeing with SSJID.

For more details about the OID board’s action and comments at its recent meeting, see the July 18 issue of The Leader.
