Deliveries Bring Some Holiday Cheer To Area Care Centers
Orange Blossom

Orange Blossom 4-H Reporter

Members of the Orange Blossom 4-H club were busy this month making holiday centerpieces to be delivered to the two care centers in Oakdale. The members shared them with Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Astoria Senior Living and Memory Care. Members came up with creative ideas to make their holiday centerpieces that included; pumpkins, turkey feathers, burlap, corn, autumn leaves, flowers, glass candle holders and candles. This is a holiday tradition for 4-H members to make these centerpieces and bring them to the November meeting.

After the meeting, members meet and deliver those centerpieces to the care centers. When delivering, members often hold the centerpieces and go on a parade through the hallways to share the centerpieces with the residents at the care centers. Sharing smiles and holiday wishes as well as their creativity brightens the residents’ day as well as the members that participate in this special delivery. This is just one of the ways that Orange Blossom 4-H members help to contribute to enriching the lives of others in our wonderful town.
