Residents young and old alike will do their best to keep cool and beat the heat, as June ends with a 100-plus degree heat wave. RaeAnn Rodrigues, 5, at left was joined by friends Ayla Reeves, 2, and Ryan Reeves, 4, for a splash and a swim in their Oakdale neighborhood pool. Meanwhile the Oakdale Library has been designed as a Cooling Center by the Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services; residents in need of a cool place can stop by any time during the library’s operating hours to cool off.
