Astoria Senior Living staff and residents hosted a garage sale recently to raise money for the Oakdale Senior Citizens Foundation which provides support for the Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center. Astoria’s Family Advisor, Cynthia Villalovoz, presented a check for $500 to Vice President, Lynne Robinson of the Senior Citizens Foundation.

According to Villalovoz, “This garage sale was a lot of work, but giving back to the community is a great feeling. Astoria Senior Living and the Senior Community Center are both committed to serving the senior community in Oakdale, so it’s a great partnership.”

Donations for the garage sale came in from the Senior Center, Tags Consignment and board members of the Senior Citizen’s Foundation.

“We thank all of those who donated and helped to make this event successful,” Villalovoz added.

A licensed assisted living community, Astoria Senior Living is at 700 Laurel Ave., in Oakdale. Recently renovated, Astoria can provide a complete range of assisted living and memory care services for up to 45 seniors.
