Oakdale resident Victor Moreno, wearing Bib No. 747, captured first place in the Saturday morning, July 14 Park Fete Run in neighboring Escalon, where he grew up and graduated from high school as a standout runner and wrestler. He clocked a time of 33:46 for the 10k, running a 5:26 average time per mile. Also competing, former Oakdale Police Chief Lester Jenkins, now retired, running in the two-mile event and completing the course in 17:24, taking second in his age division.
