Oakdale Continues To Dominate Pool In VOL Action

On Tuesday, April 9 the Oakdale High School swim team hosted Weston Ranch. At the end of the event Oakdale reigned supreme as victors as the varsity boys won 124-27 and the varsity girls won uncontested scoring 105 points.

Earning first place honors for the varsity girls was the foursome of Alyssa Castano, Reagan Oliveira, Logan Nord and Neesa Deleon in the 200 medley relay. Deleon also placed first in the 200 IM. Deleon’s big day continued when she placed first in the 100 yard freestyle. She also teamed with Bethany Metcalfe, Emma Nelson and Morgan Dietrich to take first in the 200 freestyle relay. Peighton Campbell took first in the 200 freestyle. Metcalfe placed first in the 50 freestyle. Dietrich placed first in the 100 butterfly event. Lacey Hardy earned a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Emma Nelson placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke while Kailey Ballantyne, Campbell, Hardy and Katie Dalby wrapped up the day by winning the 400 freestyle relay.

For the boys Anthony Covello, Kyle Martin, Roberto Sandoval and Brycen Conrad placed first in the 200 yard medley relay. Matthew Van Dyke placed first in the 200 yard freestyle event and Lorenzo Klose placed first in the 200 yard IM event. Chandler Neal earned a first place finish in both the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle events. Ethan Perry took first in the 100 yard butterfly, as well as the 100 yard breaststroke. Winning the 500 yard freestyle was Kyle McIntosh. Covello, Klose, David Terwilliger and Tyler Gross won the 200 yard freestyle relay event. Gross also won the 100 yard backstroke. Earning the win in the 400 yard freestyle relay were Jordan Womack, Kyle Martin, Roberto Sandoval and Lucas Hardy.

Oakdale will host the VOL Championships on Thursday, April 18 with the meet scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
