Week one of the Oakdale youth football campaign was this past Saturday, as the Stampede squads traveled to Manteca to take on the Buffaloes in CenCal Junior Football League action.

Defending Super Bowl champion Oakdale’s varsity boys did not hold back on the host Buffaloes as Oakdale destroyed Manteca 50-0. In junior varsity action Oakdale was victorious 38-6. A heartbreaking pee wee loss for Oakdale as they fell 20-19. In rookie action the Stampede scored two touchdowns and held the Buffaloes out of the end zone, though no official score is kept at the rookie level.

Week two will see Oakdale travel to Ceres to face the Seahawks at Central Valley High School. Rookies kick off at 10 a.m., pee wee is scheduled for noon, junior varsity at 2 p.m. and varsity is scheduled for 4 p.m.
