Stampede Meet And Greet Scheduled For Saturday
football1

Gearing up for fall, the Stampede Youth Football and Cheer programs will host their inaugural Family Meet and Greet at Kerr Park on Saturday, July 23 from noon to 3 p.m.

This is an event that invites current program participants and alumni who helped pave the way for today’s Stampede youth football and cheer programs, which involve dozens of local youngsters.

Stampede invites you and your family to join in for a free lunch, drinks, prize drawings, merchandise and games while getting to know your teammates and their families before the season begins. Raffle prizes include a custom set of Stampede Football and Cheer cornhole games, a pair of home season tickets for Stampede football games, four free tri tip sandwiches, and a cheer mom gift basket that features a custom Stampede Cheer tote bag, just to name a few.

Lunch will be provided as hot dogs, chips and waters will be served, along with sno-cones to cool off with on a hot summer afternoon. Face painting for the kids will also be featured at the Meet and Greet. Kerr Park also has multiple playing fields and a softball game will be offered during the afternoon. Other games on tap include tic-tac-toe Frisbee, popcorn relay and nylon bowling, where a contestant wears a nylon stocking on their head with a rolled up sock inside of it. The contestant will swing the nylon around and attempt to knock over the water bottles that serve as pins, trying to knock them all down before their opponent.

After the Meet and Greet, the first team Stampede practices are set for Saturday, July 30.

Events like this and the season in general depend on the efforts of volunteers. Stampede and Cheer are in need of volunteers and those interested can sign up on the website www.oakdalestampede.com.
