For nearly a decade, the East Union Lancers golf team dominated the Valley Oak League. However, for the second straight season, Oakdale’s Lady Mustangs defeated the Lancers on the golf course. On Thursday afternoon, Aug. 31 Oakdale defeated East Union 215-265. This was Oakdale’s Valley Oak League season opener, due to their regular season opener against Kimball having been rescheduled for Sept. 18. In the victory at Oakdale Golf and Country Club Oakdale’s Makayla Christiansen shot a team low 40 through nine holes. Madi Blanc shot an impressive 41 while Shealynn Hanrahan shot 42. Also competing for Oakdale were Allie Denning (45) and Taylor Stewart (47).

Oakdale traveled to Modesto to take on Central Catholic on Tuesday, Sept. 5 following The Leader’s deadline. The girls will return to Valley Oak League action on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Oakdale Golf and Country Club when they take on Lathrop. Oakdale will also host Manteca on Friday, Sept. 8. Tee time is scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
