We may never be the same without Mary, but we will never forget the way she made us feel. She added a shining light to any room she entered. That light will be missed, but never forgotten.

Mary is survived by her children Cheritie Spier-Fife and Josh Spier, along with her grandchildren Dayllyn Kerns, Jared, Evan and Jace Spier.

Mary was the third child born (moments after her twin brother Michael) to proud parents, Bernard and Mary Walker in Walnut Creek, CA. The Walker family moved to Oakdale in 1959 and never left. She had a total of nine siblings; Patrick, Michael, Cathleen (deceased), Eileen (deceased), Anne, Jane, Maura, Sean and Michaela.

Mary graduated Oakdale High School in 1973. Soon after graduation she married Danny L. Spier, they were married 46 years, until his death three years prior to hers. Together they had two children. While raising their children, Cheritie and Joshua, Mary went to work at Hunt Wesson Foods, Danny worked at both Oakdale and Modesto Irrigation Districts for many years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and lifelong friends Claudia, Marie, Dolly, Melba, Ofelia and Shirley. She loved the outdoors, drawing, gardening and animals.

She never met anyone who was not left feeling the love Mary had for all living things. Mary was Love! She left this earth as graciously as she lived, grateful for a wonderful life of laughter, family and friends.

There will be a celebration of Mary’s Life, as well as Danny's on January 27 at 3 p.m. at Oakdale Odd Fellows Cemetery. All are invited.
