She was born in Kirwin, KS to Claude and Laura Cogswell. She married Archie Heltzel in 1938, and they moved to California in 1947. She was widowed in 1961.

Mrs. Heltzel worked for 27 years at Oak Valley District Hospital and retired in 1993 as the Medical Records Department Supervisor and Medical Staff Secretary.

The family thanks the staff and residents of Oak Valley Care Center for the loving care and friendship given to her over the past eight years.

Funeral services were held July 25 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, a reception followed at Community United Methodist Church, Oakdale.

Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent in her name to the Oak Valley Care Center’s Activities Fund or Eden Alternatives Fund, 275 So. Oak Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361.
