Thank you to all of you who have voiced your thoughts on our Fire situation. Your opinion counts! Our school, our children, our families, our friends and neighbors need to be protected. None of us want to raise our taxes even a little, but truly the need for one life saving call makes our fire service priceless to our families!

We are excited to share with you that our Valley Home 4-H President, Callie Chrisman is now also a Stanislaus County 4-H Ambassador! Congratulations to this very busy girl. Callie you are a great inspiration to our 4-Hers!

We would like to pass on the wise words River Oak Pharmacy shared in their column in the Oakdale Leader, “Think of your best year so far, and feel it, don’t let that person in the mirror or anyone else hold you back! Pursue your passions!” What great advice. The entire column is a great read and can be found in the October 2nd edition of the Oakdale Leader.

We wish our Valley Home cowboy, Colton Farquer safe travels and many professional wins! Colton traveled down south last week while the devastating fires raged in that area. He is one dedicated rodeo cowboy. We are very proud of you Colton!

We would like to send a huge “Thank You” to Don Taro for mowing our Valley Home Park. We greatly appreciate your beautiful work!

Our Valley Home MAC met last week. It was such a great meeting for those in attendance! We had visits and information from Modesto Fire Battalion Chief Darin Jesburg, Stanislaus County Deputy Sheriff Lawson, California Highway Patrol Eric Moore, Stanislaus County Superintendent representative Patrick Cavanah, Valley Home School Superintendent Tom Price, Stanislaus County District 1 Supervisor candidate, Michael Van Winkle and much appreciation to representatives from the County Mosquito Abatement! Thank you to all for coming to Valley Home!

We end our column with a very sad farewell to a great man. Ron Brady passed away last week after a very short illness. We send our heartfelt sympathy to his beloved wife, Darlene Brady, daughter Nicole Machado, granddaughter Kaylee Machado and grandson Patrick Rocha. We will deeply miss this very special man. Rest in peace Ron.
