On tap for discussion at the upcoming Tuesday, Oct. 6 Oakdale Joint Unified School District (OJUSD) board meeting will be the topic on many parents’ minds — when students can return to school — as the Stanislaus County Public Health Department has approved the district’s waiver application.
The waiver, applicable to the four OJUSD elementary campuses, had to be approved by county health, then forwarded to the California Department of Public Health for final approval. Elementary sites are Cloverland, Fair Oaks, Magnolia and Sierra View.
In order to be approved, the district had to submit a comprehensive mitigation plan that took student safety into consideration, including social distancing, masking, and frequent hand-washing as part of their protocol during an ongoing pandemic.
The OJUSD board meeting will be conducted virtually at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
