Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 11-10-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Nov. 2 through Monday, Nov. 8. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

SUNDAY, NOV. 7

Crews from Modesto, Stanislaus Consolidated, and Turlock Fire departments spent the morning training on high rise operations at the Regional Fire Training Center.

 

SATURDAY, NOV. 6

11:48 a.m. – Stanislaus Consolidated Fire, Modesto Fire, Escalon Fire and Salida Fire units responded to a working residential structure fire in the 6000 block of Eleanor Avenue. Crews arrived on scene to find a single-story house with smoke and fire from the rear of the residence. A partial roof collapse took place shortly after firefighters arrived. The fire was contained to the house with no injuries reported. The cause is under investigation by Stanislaus FIU.

9:44 p.m. – Modesto Fire and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire units responded to a working residential structure fire in the 5300 block of Highway 108. Crews arrived on scene and found a detached outbuilding fully involved. The fire was threatening the main house and had started to burn a propane tank. Crews kept the fire to the outbuilding and fence while shutting off the propane tank. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation by Stanislaus FIU. Stanislaus Sheriff and Oakdale PD assisted with traffic control and scene safety.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 5

Engine 27 assisted the OHS Fire Science Class.

Fire Station 29 provided a station tour for the students from the Knights Ferry Elementary School.

4:26 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine 27, Stanislaus Quint 22 and Battalion Chief 5 were dispatched to the 200 block of Meadowlark Lane in the City of Oakdale for a report of a tree on fire in the garage. Engine 28 arrived to find smoke showing from the garage of a two-story townhome. The incident was upgraded to a working structure fire response. Crews quickly extinguished the fire preventing fire extension into the home. The fire is currently under investigation. OPD units assisted on scene.

 

THURSDAY, NOV. 4

Crews assisted the Training Division with instruction at the fire academy. Newly hired firefighters were learning the tactics and techniques of deploying fire hoses.

 

TUESDAY, NOV. 2

Modesto Engine 28 assisted Farmington Fire Department at the scene of a large barn fire on East Dodds Road.
