Knights Ferry Community Club Schedules Paint Nite
Knights Ferry

Knights Ferry Community Club is offering the community the opportunity to take a bit of the Ferry home with them.

On Saturday, Jan. 27 the social club will be hosting its first Paint Nite with the subject matter being the famed covered bridge. The by reservation event will be hosted at the Knights Ferry Community Club and will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $45 per artist, which includes all supplies as well as instruction. All skill levels welcome.

The company Paint Nite will be leading the event, Community Club member Tasha Sweet said.

“They provide canvas, easel, paint supplies and the best part is they provide an instructor to give us step by step instruction,” added Sweet. “Our club will provide the building, tables, chairs and people.”

According to Sweet, the club hosts other fundraising events including the Classic Car Show, Spaghetti Dinner and the Pumpkin Roll throughout the year. Proceeds from the fundraisers benefit the Knights Ferry Community Club, which provides a facility for the community, as well as scholarships for qualifying high school seniors.

“The paint night activity is a pretty trendy activity right now,” Sweet said of bringing it to Knights Ferry, “and they’re so much fun. I just thought people would love it in town. But I wanted to do the Covered Bridge rather than a flower or beach scene because it would make it more personal.”

She also likes that the night is open to all.

“I am not a professional painter,” Sweet admitted, “and they create paintings that beginners and professional painters can do together.”

Sweet also stated the interest in the event has been encouraging. The event is not exclusive to Knights Ferry community members only so persons interested in participating should reserve their space ASAP.

“People must buy tickets on-line or they can contact me,” she said. “I highly suggest people buy tickets soon because it may sell out. We have had a very good response from Facebook and the community.”
