Royse Memorial Pool – also known as ‘The Plunge’ – is open again, Friday night concerts in the park have returned and the Oakdale Enrichment Society is bringing the All American Bash to Dorada Park on Saturday, June 27, which means summer is officially here. Starting at 5 p.m., this late June event in Oakdale will offer something for every member of the family. This event is free and open to all so grab your family and friends and find a cool spot under the trees to sit back, relax and celebrate with the community.

With Love Oakdale providing the Kids Zone with activities like face painting and balloon animals, kids of all ages are sure to have a wonderful time. Refreshing drinks and food will be available and live entertainment will keep the good vibes going, with things wrapping up at 10 p.m.

Local favorites, Willy Tea Taylor and his daughter Rita Taylor will be sharing their musical talents onstage as the evening stars peek out to brighten the sky.

The All American Bash is an early Fourth of July celebration and this year honors the 250th birthday of America.

For veterans, there will be a special seating area decked out in red, white and blue to honor their service. OES recognizes the sacrifice and commitment that veterans exemplify and they want to acknowledge what their service means to the community. For those veterans that would like a sweet treat, complimentary slices of pie will be offered to all veterans from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Those planning to attend are also encouraged to wear their best patriotic-themed clothes and invite their friends and families to what is sure to be an incredible evening of merriment, music and community appreciation.
