Hydrogen Power Is Focus Of Next MAPS Presentation
MAPS

The Modesto Area Partners in Science (MAPS), in association with Modesto Junior College, is hosting a free science lecture on Friday, Sept. 27 on the topic of hydrogen as a source of fuel energy.

Titled “Heading Towards a Hydrogen-Powered Future”, the program will be presented by Dr. Brandon C. Wood, Staff Scientist, Quantum Simulations Group, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Hydrogen contains the highest energy content by weight of any substance on Earth, making it an ideal energy carrier for next-generation transportation and electric grid storage. Dr. Wood will discuss the promises, challenges, and opportunities for realizing a hydrogen-powered future, which is fast becoming a reality today. Come join in to learn cutting-edge information on this exciting technology from one of the world’s most prestigious research institutes, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m., the program will be hosted at Sierra Hall 132 on the MJC West Campus. Admission and parking are free.
