A couple of popular annual events are on the schedule this weekend in Escalon. All throughout the region are welcome and encouraged to attend either or both of these events.
First up, on Saturday, April 18, members of the Escalon Farmington Community Garden Club are hosting their Annual Plant Sale, set up on the grounds in front of the Escalon United Methodist Church at 2000 Jackson Ave., corner of Highway 120 and Brayton Avenue. Hours for the sale are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will be a wide variety of items available.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to stop by early to take advantage of the best selection. It’s the perfect time to pick up vegetable and herb plants for your gardens, along with flowers and more.
While the plant sale is a one-day only event, there will be two days devoted to the Oak Valley Art Society, OVAS, Annual Spring Art Show. The show runs both Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, and will be staged in the Ekholm Meeting Room at the Escalon Branch Library, 1540 Second St., Escalon. Hours for the show are noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 and noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.
There will also be a reception with the artists on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.; admission to the art show is free, there will be several items available in opportunity drawings.
Artwork in a variety of mediums will be on display for visitors to enjoy.
