At least one person was killed in an early morning accident along Highway 108 east of Oakdale on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles and a big rig were involved in the crash, which occurred near the intersection with Lancaster Road. Authorities on scene investigating said there was one confirmed fatality along with other injuries. Air and ground ambulances responded to the scene, with the crash occurring about 5:20 a.m.

There was a highway closure in the area during the response to and investigation of the crash; traffic was being rerouted.
