Fallon House Serves Up ‘Ripcord’ In Columbia
Ripcord

Come enjoy the funny and touching Ripcord, playing at the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Park from Aug. 23 through Sept. 15.

A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

Rated PG-13, the play is by David Lindsay-Abaire and stars Susan Denaker as Marilyn Dunn and Jan Leigh Herndon as Abby Binder. The supporting cast includes Betsy Moore, Brett Mutter, Gabriel Rodrigues and Austin Springer.

Fallon House is at 11175 Washington St., in Columbia.

Opening night is Friday, Aug. 23. Dennis Jones is the director and scenic designer.

Friday and Saturday shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and will run Aug. 23, 24, 30 and 31; Sept. 6, 7, 13 and 14.

Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are matinees only. Curtain time is 2 p.m. and the dates are Wednesdays, Aug. 28, Sept. 4 and 11; Thursday performances are Aug. 29, Sept. 5 and 12; with Sunday shows on Aug. 25, Sept. 1, 8 and 15.
