Playoff time has arrived for both softball and baseball at Oakdale High School. The final stretch of the season begins on Monday, May 13.

The 2019 Valley Oak League champion Oakdale softball earned the top seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Softball Championship. Oakdale (23-0-1, 12-0) will host 16 seed Pioneer (10-8, 6-4) on Monday, May 13 with first pitch at 4 p.m. Pioneer finished in a three-way tie for second place in the Golden Empire League. If successful, the team will host the winner of eighth ranked Ceres (19-5, 13-1) and ninth ranked Wood (12-7-2, 10-5). Other notable teams in the tournament include Del Campo as the second seed (20-3, 11-1), Golden Valley as the third seed and winners of the Central California Conference (24-3, 10-2). The Valley Oak League is well represented in the tournament as East Union (15-9, 10-2), Kimball (10-10, 6-6) and Sierra (6-7, 6-6) all reached the playoffs from the league.  The championship game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22 at Arnaiz Complex in Stockton.

The Oakdale Mustangs (17-8, 7-5) earned the fifth seed in the tournament. They will host El Capitan (14-13-1, 8-4) on Tuesday, May 14 at 4 p.m. If the Mustangs succeed, they will play the winner of the fourth seed, Capital Christian (17-8, 14-4) and thirteenth ranked, Cordova (9-12, 8-7) on Thursday, May 16. Oakdale is not the only team from the Valley Oak League to reach the Division III playoffs as second seed Sierra (20-3-1, 12-0) and sixth seed Manteca (15-10, 5-7) also made the bracket.

The championship game is scheduled for Monday, May 27.
