At a time in our nation’s history when pride in being an American has fallen to the lowest level ever measured, older Americans are seeking refuge by returning, in droves, to the core values that make our country great. And the fact that the Association of Mature American Citizen’s membership has surpassed the 1.5 million mark is proof.
Gallup says that its most recent study shows that pride in America is at its lowest level since its pollsters started keeping track shortly after the attacks of 9/11 in 2001. A mere 47 percent of adults living in in the U.S. say they are “extremely proud,” compared to 70 percent who proudly voiced their love of country in 2003. Dig deeper into the survey results and it is revealed that 56 percent of respondents between 50 to 64-years-old and 58 percent of those 65 and older are extremely proud to live in the U.S.
As you might expect, political liberals have the lowest sense of pride in their country. Just 22 percent of them said they were very proud as did fewer than a third of those who described themselves as Democrats. Meanwhile, the U.S. is still a conservative nation with 35 percent of the adult population calling themselves conservative compared to only 26 percent saying they are liberal.
The Association of Mature American Citizens, AMAC, has given conservative seniors an affinity group that reflects their values and principles. In fact, that’s why we created the Association of Mature American Citizens in the first place – because the prevalent senior organizations had begun accepting socialist ideologies and proselytizing their members.
The success of AMAC is due to the fact that we established ourselves as the conservative alternative that sets its agenda according to the will of its membership. It took us a while to achieve recognition, but our efforts on behalf of our membership, and the nation as a whole, have not gone unnoticed. The word of mouth spread that finally there is a place for older Americans who care about what happens to the country.
AMAC is here to stay. We’ve earned the trust of the members we serve and will strive to continue earning their loyalty by staying true to our principles and the legacies of our Founding Fathers.
