Shewmaker, Ronald Wesley “Ron”, age 82, formerly of Oakdale, CA passed away August 6, 2020. He was born to James and Nettie Mae Shewmaker. Ron was predeceased by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Richard. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Bertha; daughters, Janice (Bob) and Diane; stepdaughters, Sandy (Ed) and Cynthia; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
Ron was a very successful retail sales associate until he retired, but those close to him also recognized his passion for teaching kung fu. He was a fifth degree black belt. He made it his life goal to pass on that knowledge to anyone who wanted to learn. Some of his other favorite pastimes included studying the racing form and playing the pick six, playing canasta, photography, fishing, and visiting Reno.
He was always kind and welcoming to everyone he encountered. The memories of Ron’s unique personality and sense of humor will keep up laughing for years to come. Our hearts are fuller having Ron in our lives.
